The answer is emphatically yes. Some of the items we have found during an inspection of new construction homes are; a crawlspace that is flooded, a furnace duct that is full of water, a gutter that doesn't drain to the downspout, roofing that is installed improperly, a dryer without a dryer vent to the outside - and the list goes on.

Most likely you will have a builders warranty that covers those items at the time of purchase and for a minimum of one year of ownership. However, please take into consideration the risk of damage to your home plus the hassle of contractors coming into your home after you are moved in.
